On Sunday, June 23, 2024, was Monsignor Chanel's last Mass at Saint James Catholic Church. Monsignor Chanel served our community with a caring, compassionate, understanding heart for nine years.

The month of June is dedicated to celebration and programs to accompany the youth of our Church and this rural community of Camden, Mississippi. We initiated the 1st Annual Pray & Play Tournament at Sacred Heart Church.

After submitting their 1st semester grades, Pierre Toussaint Scholars, with the generous support of the Black and Indian Mission Fund, received their scholarship awards.

St. Mary and St. Anthony Catholic Churches in Rocky Boy and Box Elder continue to catechize the youth in their parishes. The After School 21st Century program at Rocky Boy and Box Elder Schools supports the Faith Formation programs.

The Honorable Delegate Brenda Jesus recognized the Lady Cardinals Basketball team.

The Dioceses of Birmingham every year around the springtime host an annual retreat for the youth called Kujenga.

Sr. Roselyn tells Indigenous stories every month at the local catholic grade school which includes St. Mary’s students as well as the Ashland, Wi community.

At Saint James Catholic School we started the eighth-grade students' farewell. We began celebrating their success with an award ceremony dinner, where they shared their gratitude and achievements with their proud parents and school staff.

The diocese completed cultural acclimation with several of its new mission priests and was able to permanently assign them to parishes in rural Alaska.
