Catholic Schools Week from our island

February 28, 2020

Saint Mary's Catholic School

Gameday during Catholic Schools Week brought mixed age groups together to enjoy various games around the school.
Kaboots was a fun way to play trivia as a school. Topics included Alaska history, Disney, math, and religious facts. Classroom content kept topics lively and engaging, too.

Students celebrated Vocations by coming to school dressed as their future selves. We were fortunate to have guest speakers come and chat about how they shine God’s light (based on our school theme this year) through their work.

We ended our week with our annual brown bag lunch that brought in many families and numerous community members!

A scavenger hunt was a new addition to our celebration. students were let loose in the school to find and take pictures with things like the school logo,

A picture with a cross, and a photo with a statue. Saint Mary’s Catholic school is a Pre-K through 8th-grade school with 60 students located on the remote island of Kodiak, Alaska in the North Pacific Ocean.
