The Lector’s Training Session held on July 7, 2022 was a huge success. Sixteen parishioners attended the session presented by Anita Soltero, Assistant Director for Faith Formation and Catholic Schools, Diocese of Ogdensburg. The session focused on “Proclaiming the Word” and how to ensure that the Word of God is proclaimed during the liturgy in a vibrant and life-giving manner. The session also focused on public speaking skills and the many important elements of Lectoring Ministry. There will be a Part II Lector’s Training held on August 25th, 2022 from 5-7pm to further explore the skills of Proclaiming the Word. Everyone is welcome!
Lector's Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for calling me to be a lector at Your Eucharistic celebrations. Help me to always take this role seriously, and diligently prepare myself for it, by studying the sacred texts before Mass, and by striving to be a better Christian. By my physical action of proclaiming Your Word, I AM the instrument through whom You become present to the assembly in Your Word, and through whom You impart Your teachings. Cleanse my heart and my mind, and open my lips, that I may worthily proclaim Your Word. Amen.
