Mission in Motion

The first few weeks of school the students held a food drive. The local food pantry at the Mary Mother of Mankind Parish in Saint Michaels, informed the school they were in dire need of assistance to stock the shelves. Based on the past donations collected by the students, the parish felt they could rely on the students. The students, teachers and staff reacted quickly and within a few weeks they were able to collect over 900 items for the parish. Service learning is part of the values practiced at the school by all grade levels. Various collections throughout the year are food for the pantry, winter items for the local shelter, items for the senior center, and gratitude cards for local public service (firefighters, police, hospital workers, etc).
