The COVID 19 Pandemic has come to Oregon and the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Under the direction of Oregon Governor Brown, we sent out a letter on March 18, 2020 to notify parents of catechism students that all masses, religious education classes, and First Communion and Confirmation Masses were cancelled until further notice. Later these masses, which had originally been scheduled for April, were moved to August.
However, on July 31, Governor Brown returned Umatilla County to baseline closed status—shelter at home. With this limitation, we have had to delay catechism classes and masses for First Communion and Confirmation indefinitely.
We pray for an end to this pandemic and for a return to our normal religious education classes and church activities.
