St. Peter Claver Catholic School
School is well underway now! The start of the school year was a great success. We have had several Masses with our new pastor, Fr. Theo Weria, ALCP and Deacon Ben Hooks where the traveling chalice has been handed off from one grade level to the lower grade level. The students have learned about the different vocations from Deacon Ben and from their respective classes. The students have actively participated in the Mass by being altar servers, bringing up the Offering, being gift bearers, doing all the readings at Mass, lectors, ushering during Mass, and singing in our beautiful choir.
P.A.T.H.S (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) is well underway. The students have been learning and discussing their emotions in class. The teachers have also implemented PATHS Kid of Day in each of their classrooms. Some teachers even “knight” their kids during PATHS Kid of the Day. Of course, the learning hasn’t stopped in the classrooms with students learning all the core curriculum in addition to the extracurricular classes, like performing art, fine arts, and physical education. The students have had lots of opportunities for learning in all their classes. I hope you enjoy a few of the highlighted pictures from the classrooms and the Mass.
