Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School
Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School serves students in grades PK2 through 6. Kindergarten student, Z’Aliyah Manson, is this year’s recipient of the Black and Indian Mission Grant. Z’Aliyah began attending Sacred Heart in PK3 and is a happy, always smiling student who does well academically.
Sacred Heart began the school year with the theme “I am a Bucket Filler”. The children are encouraged to fill their buckets with acts of kindness, good behavior, positive words, and community service. As a school family, the students have supported Sacred Heart Parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society by collecting monetary donations for its annual Walk for the Poor and by collecting food items for Thanksgiving baskets. During masses of appreciation, they have shared their faith by honoring parents serving in the armed forces, first responders and Veterans. The students were proud to show off their filled buckets, when they welcomed the Most Reverend Louis F. Kihneman, III, Bishop of Biloxi, for celebration of mass and a school tour.
Bucket filling also extended to fun activities such as working together to make fall decorations in preparation of Halloween and our annual Thanksgiving Lunch. The children and their families gathered in the school cafeteria to give thanks for their many blessings and have a delicious meal.
