At St. James Catholic Church, our motto is: "Doers of the word living for the Lord." There is no better month to live out this motto than in the month of November.

The diocese only had five priests available to serve all 24 parishes in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region this quarter.

This year's celebration of the Feast of St. Nicholas was captured in several different ways. It has always been tradition for students to put one shoe outside of their classroom door hoping to find a treat left by St. Nicholas for all good little boys and girls.

In September, the young adults attended a” Faith in Action” retreat with Rev. Godwin Imoru. In October, thirty-seven parishioners participated in Adoration and the youth sponsored Rosary Rally.

The Office of Black Catholic Ministry offered praise to God through the tradition of Jazz music. The Native American Catholic Outreach held a Harvest Thanksgiving Ceremony.

Every month at our Native American Heritage Mass, more than 50 people gather around the table of the Lord calling upon “Grandfather,” God who Created us, to hear their thanks.

With the purpose of reassuring the ability to be both Catholic and Native American, the Many Nations Saint Kateri Circle shared their culture with guests who attended.
