Indian Mission | 

It has been another productive quarter at St Kateri Tekakwitha. On Saint Patrick’s Day we had a special Corned Beef Lunch for the congregation as well as some visitors.

The door of our new church opened after thirteen years on March 3, 2019 and was dedicated by Most Reverend Louis Kihneman, III, Bishop of the Catholic Dioceses of Biloxi.

On Sunday, May 19th, the Boston Black Catholic Choir hosted their Annual Concert titled, “God’s Gift.” The concert was held at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish in Dorchester.

One of the texts that the Spokane and the St. Ignatius Kateri Northwest Ministry Institute groups are studying is Trickster: Native American Tales, A Graphic Collection, edited by Matt Dembicki.

Support from the Black and Indian Mission Office has provided tuition assistance to hundreds of African American students.

Spring was an active time for Native American Ministry in the Diocese of Phoenix. Between Easter Vigil and Confirmation many new members came into the Church.

In the tradition of Saint John Baptist De La Salle, who opened schools for poor boys in seventeenth-century France, De La Salle Blackfeet School (DLSBS) fulfills the Lasallian mission to provide a “quality, innovative, faith-based education”.
