On the last Friday of Lent, the people of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and the surrounding community gathered to pray the stations of the cross at the reservation. We processed throughout the reservation praying the stations at different tribal members homes. The evening served as a great witness of faith in preparation for the triduum and Easter. Traditional councilmen and tribal members participated in the triduum celebrations, Holy Thursday, with the reception and blessing of the Holy Oils, and tribal members participating in the washing of the feet. On Good Friday the procession of Our Lord and our sorrowful Mother around the streets of the Mission, and on Holy Saturday the blessing and lighting of the Easter fire in front of the Mission.
